In summer, the Pitztal valley attracts visitors with its magnificently expansive mountain landscape and rustic mountain huts that invite you to stop for a bite to eat. To top it all off, the mountain breakfast at Café 3440, Austria’s highest coffee house, is also something to marvel at. For mountain lovers of all ages, the Pitztal Tourist Board organises an amazing summer programme with guided hiking tours and a wide range of events, also for kids.

Trail running on the Highest of Tirol
Trail running fans can look forward to fascinating routes past mountain lakes and waterfalls, while crossing the region’s panoramic mountain peaks and marvelling at the area’s picture-book idyllic scenery. Or are you tempted to participate in a special event like the annual Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail or the Pitztal Glacier Marathon, which is famous beyond the borders of Tirol?
It is probably one of the most beautiful things there is to explore a country on foot.

Hiking, biking & swimming
After your exertions, you can cool off in Stillebach, just 1 km away, where you can relax at the natural bathing lake and Kneipp centre or in one of the region’s many lakes and swimming pools. The Pitztal valley is definitely more than worth a visit.
Those who prefer to explore the valley on two wheels will find magnificent mountain bike routes and winding trails through the Pitztal valley. Hiking enthusiasts will also get their money’s worth with the range of options available, from leisurely walks in the valley to thrilling summit tours.

Café 3440 & the Wildspitzbahn cable car
With its free-floating terrace at 3,440 metres above sea level, the highest café in Austria offers a fascinating view of the more than 50 three-thousand metre peaks that surround it. The coffee house on the HIGHEST OF TIROL , offering a panoramic terrace to bask in the breathtaking views, is open all year round.
Europe's highest raft ride on Lake Rifflsee
The Rifflsee is a picturesque mountain lake at 2,232 metres above sea level. As its highlight, the opportunity to enjoy a 45-minute ride on a 140-metre2 wooden raft and discover interesting details from the Pitztal valley’s past and present awaits you.
Zirbenpark Hochzeiger hiking area
The Zirbenpark in the Hochzeiger hiking area offers lots of fun, games and action centred around the Swiss stone pine. The 1km circular walk is a highlight for young and old hikers alike.
XP Adventure Park
The Waldseilpark high-rope course with a number of different skill elements presents a fun challenge for every guest and thrill-seekers can finish off by flying over a ravine at a height of around 50 metres on the Flying Fox.
Area 47
Area 47 provides action-packed fun for brave adventurers and adrenaline junkies. From canyoning, wakeboarding and rafting to a water park with blob jump activities and a spectacular high ropes course, you’ll find everything to scintillate your senses here.
